Introduction: Three organizations are working together on LWF-RDRS Emergency Program: Building Self-reliance, Resilience & Peaceful Co-existence between the FDMNs and Host Communities in Cox’s Bazar. Lead organization RDRS Bangladesh, a national Non-Government Organization (NGO), LREP and Green Voice is a local partner.
Project partners and responsibilities:
• The Lead Organization has requested the LOCAL PARTNER to provide certain supporting services for the implementation of “LWF-RDRS Emergency Program: Building Self-reliance, Resilience & Peaceful Co-existence between the FDMNs and Host Communities in Cox’s Bazar”
• The Local Partner having represented to the Lead Organization that it has the required professional skills, and personnel and technical resources, has agreed to provide the Services on the terms and conditions set forth in this MOU;
• The Local Partner will co-operate in designing and implementing the “Environmental Restoration” component of the above stated project titled “LWF-RDRS Emergency Program: Building Self-reliance, Resilience & Peaceful Co-existence between the FDMNs and Host Communities in Cox’s Bazar”
• The Place of Implementation of the said Component of the Project shall be Host Communities (Ukhiya, CXB Sadar, Ramu, Pekua & Moheshkhali Upazilas).
The mutual rights and obligations of the Lead Organization and Local Partner:
The Local Partner shall implement the “Environmental Restoration” component of the project through carrying out the following services in Host Communities such as Ukhiya, CXB Sadar, Ramu, Pekua & Moheshkhali Upazilas;
• Conduct geographic suitability analysis and identify locally adapted saplings for the said locations
• Collect permission from the relevant local government authorities about planting the saplings and submit a copy to RDRS CXB
• Carry the saplings to the planting location and plant the saplings
• Nurture the saplings as per the suggestions from the Energy and Environmental Technical Working Group (EETWG) from the Inter-Sector Coordination Group (ISCG)
• Engage the local community people in planting and nurturing the saplings
• Take photos of the activity and prepare plantation report.
Green Voice is working to protect wildlife and the environment throughout Bangladesh. In its continued, Green Voice is a two-year tree planting campaign initiated by Cox's Bazar district. In the next two years, Green Voice's volunteers will plant more than one million fruit, forest, and medicinal trees in each Upazila in Cox's Bazar.
