Humayun Kabir Sumon

FINANACE & ADMIN MANAGER

Education:
Masters in Political Science from National University (Dhaka College)
MBA in Finance Atish Dipankar University of Science & Technology (ADUST).

Biography:
Mohammad Humayun Kabir Sumon, MBA in Finance, is the Finance & Admin Manager Of Evaluation and Consulting Services Ltd (CONS). Before joining ECONS in May 2022, he was Senior Office Manager of USA Based Research Organization Innovation for Poverty Action (IPA) (2012-2022), Commercial Manager of Dhaka Representation Ltd (2010-2012) and Senior Direct Sales officer of The City Bank Ltd (2008-2010).

He is the Joint Secretary of Bangladesh Environment Movement (BAPA), Central Co-Coordinator of GREEN VOICE. Central Team Member of Shushashoner Jonno Nagorik (SHUJAN), Consumers Association of Bangladesh (CAB) & Transparency International Bangladesh (TIB).

He is a founding member of Mukto Jibon Foundation & Mahatma Gandhi Smarok Sadan, Ex-General Secretary Voluntary blood donation organization BADHAN.

Main areas of Humayun’s professional interest are Environment Development, Anti-corruption, People’s engagement, Politics, Security and Cooperation.
 

Duties and Responsibilities: 
A Finance and Administration Manager oversees an organization's financial health and daily administrative operations. Key responsibilities include managing accounting, budgeting, and financial reporting, alongside supervising office administration, HR functions, and procurement. They ensure regulatory compliance, optimize operational efficiency, and support strategic decision-making.

Financial Management & Reporting:
Develop and monitor budgets, ensuring spending stays within set limits.Oversee accounting functions, including accounts payable/receivable, payroll, and general ledger maintenance.Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, along with cash flow projections.Manage audit processes and ensure compliance with tax laws and local regulations.

Administration & Operations:
Coordinate office management activities, such as facility maintenance, procurement of office supplies, and equipment inventory.Streamline administrative procedures to improve office efficiency.Supervise administrative staff and manage vendor relationships.

Human Resources & Compliance:
Administer HR processes, including payroll, benefits, and potentially recruitment and staff performance management.Maintain internal controls and ensure compliance with organizational policies, donor requirements (if applicable), and local labor laws.
