Mohidul Hoque Khan

Chief Consultant

Biography:
Presently serving as the Chief Consultant of ECONS, he is a seasoned researcher and development professional with nearly 30 years of extensive experience in both quantitative and qualitative research. Since 1993, he has been actively engaged in professional research and has successfully led and conducted numerous large-scale survey and research projects, producing high-quality analytical and independent reports for national and international organizations.

Prior to this, he held senior management positions in research and Management Information Systems (MIS) across various organizations for over 15 years, including 9 years in government service. From 1986 to 1992, he worked at Social Marketing Company (SMC), a leading non-profit organization promoting primary healthcare services in Bangladesh, where he served as the Head of Research before leaving the organization.

Throughout his career, he has guided and conducted more than 50 research studies and consultancy assignments. His major clients include The World Bank, Asian Development Bank (ADB), World Health Organization (WHO), UNICEF, WaterAid, Concern Worldwide Bangladesh, Action Against Hunger (ACF), Harvard University, The University of Sydney, Department of Public Health Engineering (DPHE), Social Marketing Company (SMC), and many other national and international development organizations.

In addition to his research expertise, he is an experienced systems analyst with strong competencies in designing and developing computerized MIS systems for development programs and organizations. He is also widely recognized as a veteran social and environmental activist. He was a founding member and former General Secretary of Bangladesh Poribesh Andolon (BAPA), one of the country’s leading civil society platforms dedicated to environmental protection, and continues to play an active role in environmental advocacy and public awareness initiatives. Furthermore, he remains actively involved in consumer rights and safe food movements in Bangladesh.
