The Governance and Justice Group (GJG) first contracted for services from Alamgir Kabir and ECONS in 2014 when we were conducting a Justice Audit of five districts in Bangladesh. ECONS won the open tender we put out to conduct citizen, court user and practitioner surveys.
The professionalism of ECONS staff and quality of their work were outstanding. We developed the questionnaires in consultation with their senior and highly experienced enumerators who conducted cognitive and field test with professionalism: they wrote reports on each test and further changes were made. ECONS' extensive system of enumerator oversight also made us feel comfortable with the integrity of the data received. We were impressed that the methodology agreed on was followed exactly in the field. Once the surveys were conducted, staff from ECONS then undertook the analysis of the data. All the work was completed within the time frame agreed and the standard was of the highest.
In 2016, the GJG was invited to conduct a national justice audit. ECONS were GJG's first call for technical advice and guidance and we insisted on ECONS quality review of the data provided by another service provider (over whom the GJG had no control). Once more the contribution made by ECONS was outstanding in terms of the quality of their work and time-frame within which they delivered (always going the extra mile).
The GJG has worked with enumerator firms elsewhere in Asia and Africa. ECONS stands head and shoulders above them all not only for the reasons already given but also for the courtesy and integrity with which they approach their work.
